The Carnegie Albertosaurus is one of the few Carnegie Collection replicas designed to balance on two feet with its tail held horizontally. As a result, the feet are slightly enlarged and flattened. Though it is one of the few Albertosaurus replicas ever produced (presumably meant to depict A. sarcophagus rather than A. libratus, aka Gorgosaurus), it was only on the market for a few years before being retired from the line.

Version: 2
Release: c. 2007
Status: Minor repaint
Material: Hard white vinyl
Paint: 6 colors. Matte gray (wash); matte dark gray (stripes); matte white (belly); pink (mouth); gold (eyes); black (pupils).
Stamp text: On belly. Left-aligned: ALBERTOSAURUS/ (C) 2003 Carnegie Collection / Safari Ltd., Miami, FL / Made in China / CE
CE mark: Large, on leg.
TDR rating: 5/10

This version has a lighter and warmer color, as seen in the comparison photo below. The various grays are a warmer color and it appears to lack the final light gray paint on the snout. The simplified and slightly different paint implies this is a later production sample, and the fact that it sipped with a "map" style tag shows that it must date to around 2007.

(thanks to Everett M. for the photos and info).
