Original 1988 prototype. The original Carnegie Collection Brachiosaurus sculpted by Forest Rogers was in production in one form or another from 1988 to 2012, at which point it was replaced with a new model . The original mold was the largest and heaviest model in the Carnegie range and among the largest figures ever produced by Safari, standing 15 inches tall, with some weighing nearly 3 lbs. (the weight varied based on the material - various different plastics were employed in production over the years). The figure was initially produced in true 1/40 scale. However, from the mid-1990s, the molds were downsized significantly, and the 2012 replacement model was even smaller. During its lifetime, the model was produced using at least 3 distinct molds, and issued in 4 different basic color schemes (each with their own minor variations, broken down in detail below). The Carnegie Collection Tyrannosaurus (1988)

Above: Paint master. Carnegie Collection Tyrannosaurus rex model is sculpted in a rearing-up pose very similar to the original mounted skeleton at the Carnegie Museum. Using skull size as a reference point, this model is 1:40 scale only if the largest known  T. rex  specimens are used. When scaled to the skull size of the Carnegie Museum's own  T. rex  holotype, it comes out at 1:25. Above: Three different colorways were produced - orange (1988), green spotted (1989), and green striped (1990-2015). The Carnegie Tyrannosaurus was released in three basic colorways over the years. The earliest samples (from reported purchases in 1988 and photographed in a 1988 Safari brochure) follow a green and orange colorway likely inspired by art from 1980s era children's' book illustrations by Bernard Robinson (created for Ladybrid / St. Michael books). The Carnegie Collection Allosaurus (1988)

Original 1988 paint master prototype. The Carnegie Collection Allosaurus sculpted by Forest Rogers was in production in one form or another from 1988 to 2015, with a major re-sculpt done in the mid 1990s. During its lifetime, the model was produced using at least 5 distinct molds, and issued in 4 different colorways (each with their own minor variations, listed in detail below). The prototype, presumably designed by Rogers, featured a dark gray body with gold highlights. Production versions included a mottled brown and yellow variant, a gray and gold variant  similar to the prototype , a black and green variant, and finally a gray and maroon variant.
