Miragaia is tied with Dilong for the title of "most topical Carnegie release" - both replicas hit the market within two years of their respective species' discoveries.

Advertisements and catalog entries for this replica listed it as 1:30 scale, like the Woolly Mammoth and the 2011 Carnotaurus. Based on the original specimen, the scale would actually closer to 1:25, like Cryolophosaurus and Concavenator. However, larger specimens are now known (up to 6.66m in length), which would make the scale of this replica 1:28, very close to the advertised scale.

Later production runs of Miragaia dropped the gloss finish and had simplified paint operations. The info text has been updated to read "Carnegie INST." and includes the scale.
