The Carnegie Collection Tylosaurus is the de facto upgrade to the old 1990 Mosasaurus. Though sculpted as a different species, the color scheme is similar and it is in a similar pose to the old classic model. Note the glossy finish of figures made during the first production run. Earlier production models also have painted pterygoid teeth and a red palate as well as red gum highlights, while later production runs dropped these details.

The info text on the figure reads 2008, though it was a 2009 release. The latest DOP stamp on glossy models (positioned on the underside of the front right flipper) reads "0910" indicating that the glossy model was in production at least through the fall of 2010 before being replaced by the matte painted version (below).

Version: 2
Release: 2010
Material: Hard off-white vinyl
Paint: Glossy. 7 colors. Olive green (top); black (stripes, pupil); white (teeth); pink (mouth); brown (wash); yellow (eyes); gloss (finish).

This slightly later production version is stamped 0910, meaning it was produced during the second half of 2010. The paint operations are already slightly different, with less detailed applications especially in the eye, more cream-colored base color, and lack of painted pterygoid teeth along with lack of red detailing inside the mouth.

Version: 3
Release: c. 2012
Material: Hard white vinyl
Paint: Matte. 6 colors. Olive green (top); black (stripes, pupil); white (teeth); pink (mouth); brown (wash); yellow (eyes).

TDR rating: 7/10

Later productions runs of the Carnegie Tylosaurus seem to have a more matte paint application, missing the glossy finish of the original release. Based on the DOP stamp (moved from the front flipper to near the vent in matte samples), this version was in production by at least the end of 2013.
